This is the story of Sgt Gene L. Lamie he attended Charlton County High School. He enlisted in the Army 1-01. He wanted to be a soldier all of his life. As soon as he was old enough he enlisted. Gene loved to hunt and fish with his father. He loved his two children Lyrean and Gene Benjamin. He had one brother John (also in the Army) and one sister Christy Bell. Gene's sister Christy had a child when she was just 18, Gene became the best uncle anyone could want. He attend father daughter dances with his niece Kelsey he also went to have breakfast with her at her pre-k class on breakfast with daddy day. Gene had many uncles and aunts who loved him and prayed each day he would come home safe each time he was deployed to Iraq. Gene had the best sense of humor. He loved to pull jokes on you and he could spend some tales a mile long. His mother and father are Gene and Linda Lamie. He named his son Gene to honor his father and his grandfather. His grandparents are Gene and Elsie Lamie and James and Della Taylor. He loved to watch Tony Stewart race. He would sit his son in his lap and say ok Tony needs our help today. Gene was a man with a huge heart. He loved his family and loved being home is Georgia. He was stationed at Fort Hood in TX for 5 years and transferred to Fort Stewart so he could be back in Georgia. Gene is missed by all who knew him.
